Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Slack bot, Github, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking β€œRun once” and triggering an event to check if the Slack bot and Github integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Slack bot and Github (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Slack bot and Github

Github + Jira + Slack bot: When a new issue is created in a Github repository, a corresponding issue is created in Jira. The user who created the issue in Github then receives a direct message in Slack to confirm the Jira ticket creation.

Github + Google Sheets + Slack bot: Every time a new commit is made to a Github repository, the commit details are added as a new row to a Google Sheet. A daily summary of these commits is then sent to a Slack channel.
