How to connect Basecamp and Gender API
Create a New Scenario to Connect Basecamp and Gender API
In the workspace, click the “Create New Scenario” button.

Add the First Step
Add the first node – a trigger that will initiate the scenario when it receives the required event. Triggers can be scheduled, called by a Basecamp, triggered by another scenario, or executed manually (for testing purposes). In most cases, Basecamp or Gender API will be your first step. To do this, click "Choose an app," find Basecamp or Gender API, and select the appropriate trigger to start the scenario.

Add the Basecamp Node
Select the Basecamp node from the app selection panel on the right.

Save and Activate the Scenario
After configuring Basecamp, Gender API, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.
Test the Scenario
Run the scenario by clicking “Run once” and triggering an event to check if the Basecamp and Gender API integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Basecamp and Gender API (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.
Most powerful ways to connect Basecamp and Gender API
Basecamp + Gender API + Google Sheets: When a new project is created in Basecamp, the automation retrieves member names, infers their gender using the Gender API, and logs the information into a Google Sheet for diversity reporting.
Basecamp + Gender API + Slack: When a new project member is added to Basecamp, their name is sent to the Gender API to infer their gender. Based on the inferred gender, a tailored welcome message is sent to the user in a Slack direct message, and HR is alerted in a designated Slack channel.
