While most eyes are still fixed on OpenAI and Anthropic, Tencent quietly launched something that deserves attention: Hunyuan T1, a reasoning-focused AI model trained not to impress with clarity, logic, and low cost in mind. Here’s what’s worth knowing – and what might change how we think about AI outside the West.

What makes Hunyuan T1 stand out

Logic > Lyrical: T1 isn’t trying to be creative. Its whole purpose is clear logic, fast response, and minimal hallucination. It’s built to process extended documents, reason through complex instructions, and give output that doesn’t spiral off track.

Benchmarks tell the story:

  • On the MMLU Pro test – a standard for reasoning tasks – T1 scored 87.2, beating DeepSeek R1 (84.0) and only slightly behind OpenAI’s o1 model (89.3).
  • In the AIME 2024 math test, Hunuyan T1 hit 78.2, which is on par with o1 and R1.
  • And in Chinese reasoning benchmarks, it crushed it with a 91.8 score in C-Eval.

I've Tested Tencent’s Hunyuan T1 – here’s what it’s like

I spent a few hours with Hunyuan T1 via HuggingFace , and I came away with a clear impression: it’s solid, serious, and not trying to entertain you.

The first thing I noticed is how confidently it handles long prompts. It breaks things down step by step, keeps the structure clean, and doesn’t spiral into vague rambling like some other models do. There’s a kind of quiet focus to it – no fluff, no unnecessary “creativity”. Just straight answers.

Here’s what it felt like using it:

  • Focused and steady, even with complicated inputs
  • Very structured – it knows how to stay on track
  • A bit dry in tone, sometimes too formal
  • Handles multilingual tasks surprisingly well
  • Not built for storytelling or imaginative prompts

Also, running it through Hugging Face was easy. There’s an API at the same link, so if you need a model that’s good at keeping things accurate and logical – especially in Chinese or mixed-language settings – this one’s worth checking out. Tencent’s Hunyan T1 is also very cheap when it comes to output/input tokens:

  • 1 yuan or 0.14 USD per 1 million tokens input
  • 4 yuan or 0.51 USD per 1 million tokens output

Things You can automate Right Now

You can easily use it in your apps or automation tools. The model is going to be available on Latenode so you can add it to your automation scenarios and streamline your work. Here are a few examples of how you can try AI automation on Latenode right now and boost your personal productivity.
