Save and Activate the Scenario
After configuring FreeAgent, Bitly, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.
Test the Scenario
Run the scenario by clicking “Run once” and triggering an event to check if the FreeAgent and Bitly integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between FreeAgent and Bitly (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.
Most powerful ways to connect FreeAgent and Bitly
FreeAgent + Bitly + Google Sheets: When a new invoice is created in FreeAgent, a shortened Bitly link is created. This link, along with invoice details, is then added as a new row in a Google Sheet to track views.
Bitly + FreeAgent + Slack: When a Bitly link (presumably for a FreeAgent invoice) is accessed (no trigger for link clicks is available, so a scheduled check of Bitly links is not possible). On a new FreeAgent invoice, a Slack message is sent to a specified channel to alert the finance team, prompting follow-up.
