Save and Activate the Scenario
After configuring Motion, FreeAgent, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.
Test the Scenario
Run the scenario by clicking “Run once” and triggering an event to check if the Motion and FreeAgent integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Motion and FreeAgent (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.
Most powerful ways to connect Motion and FreeAgent
Motion + FreeAgent + Slack: When a task is marked as completed in Motion, the automation checks if the task has associated time logged in FreeAgent. If time is logged, a message is sent to a designated Slack channel to notify project managers.
FreeAgent + Motion + Google Sheets: This automation tracks new invoices created in FreeAgent and tasks created in Motion within a Google Sheet. Each new invoice and task will add a row to the Google Sheet, providing a log for budget monitoring.
