How to connect Moxie and Render

Create a New Scenario to Connect Moxie and Render

In the workspace, click the β€œCreate New Scenario” button.

Add the First Step

Add the first node – a trigger that will initiate the scenario when it receives the required event. Triggers can be scheduled, called by a Moxie, triggered by another scenario, or executed manually (for testing purposes). In most cases, Moxie or Render will be your first step. To do this, click "Choose an app," find Moxie or Render, and select the appropriate trigger to start the scenario.

Add the Moxie Node

Select the Moxie node from the app selection panel on the right.

Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Moxie, Render, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking β€œRun once” and triggering an event to check if the Moxie and Render integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Moxie and Render (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Moxie and Render

Render + Moxie + Slack: When a new deployment is triggered on Render, Moxie detects this change (potentially through an API call scheduled at regular intervals) and then Slack sends a message to a specified channel to alert the team.

Moxie + Render + Google Sheets: When Moxie detects a change in a project (e.g., a website deployment on Render through scheduled task), the details of the deployment are added as a new row in Google Sheets for tracking purposes.
