Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Smartsheet, Google Sheets, and any additional nodes, donโ€™t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking โ€œRun onceโ€ and triggering an event to check if the Smartsheet and Google Sheets integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Smartsheet and Google Sheets (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Smartsheet and Google Sheets

Smartsheet + Google Sheets + Slack: When a new event occurs in Smartsheet (like a row change), the automation gets the sheet data and updates a summary Google Sheet with the changes. Subsequently, a message is sent to a designated Slack channel to notify the project team about the Smartsheet update.

Google Sheets + Smartsheet + Email: When a new row is added to a Google Sheet (e.g., from form responses), the automation creates a corresponding new row in Smartsheet with the data from the Google Sheet. Finally, a confirmation email is sent to the submitter using the email address provided in the Google Sheet.
