Sync SimilarWeb website analytics to Google Sheets and Airtable

This automation extracts website traffic and engagement metrics from SimilarWeb and syncs the data directly into Google Sheets and Airtable.

It starts by capturing new domains from a Google Sheet, cleans the URLs, fetches detailed analytics from the SimilarWeb API, and writes the enriched data back to the sheet. Optionally, it can also export the insights to Airtable for further tracking and analysis. This is useful for businesses that need to monitor and analyze the performance of their own or their competitors' websites.

How Latenode estimates time and cost

Latenode bills workflow runs in credits: 1 credit = 30 seconds of processing. Minimum charge per run depends on your plan. Plug-and-Play (PnP) AI nodes are billed separately—each PnP token is $1 USD, charged pay-as-you-go at vendor cost plus a small processing fee, with no API keys required.

How it works

1
Trigger

Capture New Domains

The automation starts by reading a list of new domains from a Google Sheet. This provides the initial set of websites to analyze.

2
Logic

Clean Domain URLs

The automation then cleans the domain URLs by stripping unnecessary parts, ensuring a consistent format for the SimilarWeb API to process.

3
Action

Fetch Website Analytics

The cleaned domain URLs are used to retrieve detailed traffic and engagement metrics from the SimilarWeb API. This includes data such as website visits, bounce rate, average visit duration, and more.

4
Action

Update Google Sheet

The automation writes the enriched domain data, including the SimilarWeb metrics, back to the original Google Sheet for easy access and further analysis.

5
Action

Export to Airtable

Optionally, the automation can also export the website performance insights to Airtable, enabling deeper tracking and analysis of the data across the organization.

Setup guide

Add your SimilarWeb API key in the Latenode Credentials panel.

2

Configure Google Sheets connection

Add your Google Sheets credential in the Latenode Credentials panel, then configure the Google Sheet ID and worksheet name in the Google Sheets node settings.

3

Configure Airtable connection (optional)

If you want to sync the data to Airtable, add your Airtable credential in the Latenode Credentials panel and configure the Airtable base ID and table name in the Airtable node settings.

4

Map input domain data

In the Google Sheets node settings, map the input column(s) containing the raw domain URLs.

5

Map output data fields

In the Google Sheets and Airtable node settings, map the output columns/fields to store the enriched SimilarWeb metrics like global rank, total visits, bounce rate, etc.
