Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Bitly, Grist, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking “Run once” and triggering an event to check if the Bitly and Grist integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Bitly and Grist (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Bitly and Grist

Bitly + Grist + Slack: When a new shortened link is created in Bitly, the automation adds a new record to a specified table in Grist to track the link. Subsequently, a message is sent to a Slack channel to notify the team about the new link.

Grist + Bitly + X (Twitter): When a new record is created or updated in Grist, containing a URL, the automation shortens the URL using Bitly. The shortened URL is then used to create a post on X (Twitter).
