Anthropic and OpenEvidence said on Sept. 22 they are expanding a free clinical decision-support service for healthcare workers across about 100 low- and middle-income countries.
The Reuters report says the rollout includes countries such as Uganda, Angola, Sudan, Haiti, and Mongolia. Anthropic provides the backend AI support, while OpenEvidence adapts the system to local guidelines and care constraints. OpenEvidence said that localization work was earlier tested in Rwanda with 45 physicians and nurse clinicians, according to the company.
For teams tracking healthcare AI launches, the useful check is narrower than the headline: which countries have confirmed access, free use, and local adaptation beyond a generic model wrapper? That matters if downstream workflows depend on whether a medical AI tool is actually live in a given market.
