Anthropic replaces Claude Max 20x with Ultra at $200/month

Teams using Claude for long-running workflows should re-check whether verified Ultra reduces session cutoffs and whether the included API credits change the cost tradeoff versus direct API spend.

Anthropic replaces Claude Max 20x with Ultra at $200/month

Anthropic’s Claude pricing page now lists Max at $100 per month and Ultra at $200 per month, with Ultra as the top individual plan.

According to Anthropic’s help documentation, the old Max 20x tier has been renamed Ultra, and existing Max 20x subscribers move over automatically with no price change. The current pricing page says Max includes 5x Pro usage every five hours and every week, plus $100 in monthly API credits. Ultra includes 10x Pro weekly usage, $200 in monthly API credits, and no five-hour limit for verified accounts.

Anthropic says that benefit is not immediate for everyone: if an Ultra account has not yet been verified, a temporary five-hour limit still applies. The company also notes that web plans are billed monthly and mobile pricing can vary by platform.

For builders running long Claude app sessions or agent-style workflows, the practical change is the higher ceiling for verified Ultra accounts, plus bundled API credits that may shift the cost comparison against paying for API usage separately.
