Docker publishes open-source Skills for AI coding agents

Docker is packaging container know-how into reusable agent-readable skill files, which could reduce prompt work and make Docker-related automations easier to carry across supported coding agents.

Docker publishes open-source Skills for AI coding agents

Docker has documented Docker Skills, an official open-source way for compatible AI coding agents to get Docker-specific guidance for tasks like improving a Dockerfile or setting up a Compose app.

Rather than bundling everything into one prompt, Docker packages guidance as separate skill directories. Each includes a SKILL.md file that explains what the skill does and when an agent should use it, letting supported clients match a user request to the right instructions automatically instead of requiring the user to name a skill.

Docker also provides installation paths for multiple agent environments, including Docker Agent, Docker Sandboxes, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot CLI, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, and Antigravity. For builders, that means Docker workflow knowledge can be reused across supported agent surfaces instead of being rewritten for each tool.

Docker says the collection is still evolving and does not yet cover every Docker product.
