Google broadens Gemini 4 Argon across API and apps

Argon is now available widely enough to evaluate in production flows, and the temporary pricing window gives teams a chance to test routing before standard rates begin.

Google broadens Gemini 4 Argon across API and apps

Google broadened access to Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, expanding the model beyond its earlier limited rollout. Per the Google Cloud announcement, developers can use it through the paid Gemini API tier in Google AI Studio and Android Studio, while enterprise teams can call the model as gemini-4-argon across Google’s AI tooling.

Google also opened Argon to paid consumer tiers. Google AI Ultra subscribers get access in Antigravity, and Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can use it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. That is a wider release than the earlier phase, when Google had initially rolled Argon out only to trusted cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program.

Google is positioning the model for complex multi-step work in coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity, and science. For builders, the practical shift is that Argon can now be tested as a live routing option instead of a hard-to-access preview.

Pricing starts at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens through November 30, 2026, with cached input tokens priced 95% off. After that, Google says standard rates will be $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens.
