Microsoft has introduced three Copilot capabilities: Home unifies Chat and Cowork, Code builds custom solutions, and Autopilot handles persistent agentic work. Home and Code will begin reaching Frontier participants in the coming weeks, while Autopilot is set to expand into private preview at the end of the month.
Microsoft will put Cowork, Code, Autopilot, long-running agents and frontier models such as Astra and Fable on usage-based billing, while everyday AI uses fixed-cost subscriptions. Code lets users describe an app, tracker, dashboard, automation or workflow in natural language, then has Copilot choose an approach and build it in a sandbox.
Copilot Managed Runtime adds IT-governed hosting inside a company’s Microsoft 365 environment and supports apps made with Cowork, Code and Copilot Studio.
