NVIDIA launches agent safety platform with optional DPU isolation

For agent builders, this adds a runtime-control layer they can deploy on standard infrastructure with OpenShell, then extend with BlueField-backed isolation and monitoring for higher-risk automations.

NVIDIA launches agent safety platform with optional DPU isolation

NVIDIA on Sept. 28 introduced its Open Agent Safety Platform, a framework for securing AI agents as they move from evaluation into live use.

At the center is OpenShell, an open-source runtime that places agents in a controlled environment and applies rules to the systems, data, and actions they can access. NVIDIA says it is broadly available and can run without BlueField-4, including on local setups, on-prem infrastructure, cloud environments, and Kubernetes.

For teams that want stronger separation, NVIDIA is pairing that software layer with Sentry, which uses BlueField-4 DPUs for out-of-band monitoring and enforcement. NVIDIA says Sentry can quarantine agents in milliseconds without depending only on the host the agent is running on.
