xAI launches X Subscription with shared Grok-Cursor usage

For builders using Grok and Cursor together, the launch makes the billing boundary clearer: first-party usage is pooled, but third-party model calls remain separately metered, which affects budget controls and usage monitoring.

xAI launches X Subscription with shared Grok-Cursor usage

xAI launched The X Subscription on October 11, 2026, bundling X, Grok, and Cursor into one paid plan with a weekly pool for eligible first-party usage across supported Grok and Cursor surfaces.

According to the xAI plan details, individual tiers are Plus at $8 a month, Premium at $30, Super at $100, and Ultra at $200. On self-serve team plans, each paid seat keeps its own weekly pool rather than sharing usage across the workspace.

One billing detail to watch: Cursor calls to third-party models are not covered by that shared pool. Those requests are billed separately as Additional Usage from prepaid credits, so teams may need to track bundled first-party usage and external model spend separately.

For new self-serve customers, The X Subscription is the default option. Existing Cursor, SuperGrok, and X Premium subscribers can keep their current plans or switch later.
