Latenode

Get Slack notifications for new DocSend document visits

This template pings Slack when someone views a DocSend document. Point DocSend’s visit webhook at a Latenode webhook.

JavaScript picks viewer, document name, and timestamp. Slack posts that text to the channel you choose. Connect Slack, then open a DocSend link to confirm one message arrives.

How Latenode estimates time and cost

Latenode bills workflow runtime in CPU seconds. The first 10,000 CPU seconds are free each month, then usage follows pay-as-you-go CPU-second pricing. Plug-and-Play (PnP) AI nodes are billed separately—each PnP token is $1 USD, charged pay-as-you-go at vendor cost plus a small processing fee, with no API keys required.

What this template does

  • Alerts Slack when someone views a DocSend document
  • Posts to the Slack channel you choose
  • Takes DocSend visits on a webhook
  • Keeps a DocSend API key on the JavaScript node if you poll

How it works

1
Trigger

Receive a DocSend visit

A webhook accepts the DocSend visit payload. If you poll instead, run on a schedule and fetch visits in the next step.

2
Logic

Format the Slack text

JavaScript builds a short message with document, viewer email or name, and time. If polling, this node also calls the DocSend API with the key stored on the node.

3
Action

Post to Slack

Slack sends that text to the public channel you select.

Setup guide

1

Connect Slack

Add a Slack connection that can post to the destination channel.

2

Ingest DocSend visits

Add a webhook and paste the URL into DocSend’s webhook settings for document views. To poll instead, use a schedule plus JavaScript that lists recent visits with your DocSend API key on the node.

3

Map the Slack message

Add JavaScript to format viewer and document fields, then send a Slack public channel message. Pick the channel.

4

Test with a real view

Open a DocSend link (or wait for the poll) and confirm the Slack channel gets one message.

Requirements

A Slack channel Latenode can post to
DocSend webhooks, or a DocSend API key if you poll from JavaScript

Each run uses credits on your Latenode plan. We charge for processing time (1 credit = 30 seconds). Your actual cost depends on your plan and how long the run takes. See pricing plans for plans and how credits work.
