Latenode

Automatically notify Discord channel of Kanban Tool task updates

This template posts a Discord message when a Kanban Tool task moves column or changes state. Kanban Tool sends the event to a Latenode webhook.

JavaScript reads task name, column, and assignee. Discord posts that summary in the channel you choose. Connect Discord. Put the Discord bot token on the Discord connection.

How Latenode estimates time and cost

Latenode bills workflow runtime in CPU seconds. The first 10,000 CPU seconds are free each month, then usage follows pay-as-you-go CPU-second pricing. Plug-and-Play (PnP) AI nodes are billed separately—each PnP token is $1 USD, charged pay-as-you-go at vendor cost plus a small processing fee, with no API keys required.

Setup guide

1

Add a webhook trigger

Add a webhook trigger and copy its URL. In Kanban Tool, send task-updated or column-changed webhooks to that URL.

2

Format the task

Add JavaScript to read task name, column, and assignee. If you poll the board instead, put your Kanban Tool API key in that JavaScript node.

3

Connect Discord

Add a Discord connection and paste the bot token there. Invite the bot to the channel and map the JavaScript text. Move a test task and confirm the Discord message.

Requirements

A Kanban Tool board that can POST task updates to a webhook
A Latenode webhook URL
A Discord bot that can post in the target channel, with the token on the Discord connection
