How Latenode estimates time and cost

Latenode bills workflow runs in credits: 1 credit = 30 seconds of processing. Minimum charge per run depends on your plan. Plug-and-Play (PnP) AI nodes are billed separately—each PnP token is $1 USD, charged pay-as-you-go at vendor cost plus a small processing fee, with no API keys required.

What this template does

  • Extracts new content from the specified RSS feed
  • Normalizes the feed data into a consistent format
  • Triggers OneSignal push notifications for each new article
  • Ensures timely delivery of updates to engaged subscribers
  • Generates a log of all pushed notifications for reference

How it works

1
Trigger

Monitor RSS Feed

The automation periodically checks the specified RSS feed source for new content. Whenever a new item is detected in the feed, the system proceeds to the next step.

2
Logic

Filter for New Content

The system compares the latest RSS items to the content that has already been processed. Only the new, unprocessed items are passed on to the next step.

3
Action

Fetch Page Content

For each new RSS item, the system uses a headless browser to load and parse the corresponding web page, extracting the full content.

4
Logic

Extract Relevant Data

The system processes the fetched web page content, extracting the key information (such as title, summary, and URL) that will be included in the push notification.

5
Action

Send Push Notification

Finally, the system triggers a OneSignal push notification for each new RSS item, delivering the extracted content to the subscribers.

Setup guide

1

Add RSS Feed Source

1. In the Latenode visual builder, add an RSS App node. 2. Configure the RSS App node with the URL of the RSS feed you want to monitor for new content.

2

Configure OneSignal Credentials

1. In the Latenode Credentials panel, add a new OneSignal credential. 2. Provide your OneSignal App ID and REST API Key in the credential settings.

3

Set Up OneSignal Notification

1. In the Latenode visual builder, add a OneSignal node. 2. Connect the OneSignal node to the RSS App node to trigger notifications whenever new content is detected. 3. Configure the OneSignal node settings, such as the notification title, message, and target audience.

4

Map RSS Feed Data to OneSignal

1. In the OneSignal node settings, map the relevant fields from the RSS feed data (e.g., title, description, link) to the corresponding OneSignal notification parameters.

5

Test and Publish the Workflow

1. Test the workflow by manually triggering the RSS App node or waiting for new content to be published. 2. Verify that the OneSignal notifications are being sent correctly. 3. Publish the workflow to make it active and ready to automatically notify your subscribers of new content.
