How to Send Messages Through WhatsApp API: Complete Guide

This template receives a POST on a Latenode webhook, reads the destination number and message in JavaScript, and sends it with WhatsApp Business Cloud.

Point any system that can call a URL at the webhook. Connect WhatsApp Business Cloud and put the Cloud API token on that connection. Use Send Message while a customer window is open, or an approved template when you write first.

How Latenode estimates time and cost

Latenode bills workflow runtime in CPU seconds. The first 10,000 CPU seconds are free each month, then usage follows pay-as-you-go CPU-second pricing. Plug-and-Play (PnP) AI nodes are billed separately—each PnP token is $1 USD, charged pay-as-you-go at vendor cost plus a small processing fee, with no API keys required.

What this template does

  • Sends WhatsApp messages from a webhook POST
  • Reads destination and text in JavaScript
  • Delivers through WhatsApp Business Cloud
  • Keeps the Cloud API token on the WhatsApp Business Cloud connection

How it works

1
Trigger

Receive the webhook

The scenario starts when your app POSTs a destination number and message to the webhook URL.

2
Logic

Read number and text

JavaScript takes the phone and body from the payload. If the number is missing, the run stops.

3
Action

WhatsApp Business Cloud delivers the message or approved template to that number.

Setup guide

1

Add a webhook trigger

Add a webhook trigger and copy its URL. In your app, POST JSON with the destination number and the text or template parameters.

2

Connect WhatsApp Business Cloud

Add a WhatsApp Business Cloud connection and paste your Cloud API token there. Use a phone number registered for Cloud API.

3

Map and send

In JavaScript, read phone and message. Send with WhatsApp Business Cloud. Use Send Message while the customer window is open. Use an approved template when you write first. Stop the run if the phone field is empty.

Requirements

A WhatsApp Business Cloud app and a registered business number
The Cloud API token stored on the WhatsApp Business Cloud connection
A source app that can POST JSON with phone and message to the webhook URL

Create a Pipeline deal from a new Discord channel message

Sales teams often miss leads buried in Discord conversations. This scenario captures every new message in a chosen Discord channel and creates a corresponding deal in Pipeline, using the message text as the deal description and the author's username as part of the deal name. Sales managers and business development reps can log inbound signals from team discussions directly into Pipeline CRM without manual data entry. The connection turns Discord into a lead source, so no opportunity slips through the cracks.

Create a Pipeline deal when a new HubSpot deal is added

Manually copying deal data from HubSpot to Pipeline wastes time and risks errors. This automation triggers on the New Deal event in HubSpot and then runs the Create Deal action in Pipeline, mapping the deal name, amount, and associated contact email and name. Sales operations teams and CRM administrators who use both HubSpot and Pipeline can eliminate duplicate data entry. HubSpot captures the initial deal, and Pipeline receives a matching record immediately, so both systems stay aligned without manual work.
