Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Google docs, Motion, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking “Run once” and triggering an event to check if the Google docs and Motion integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Google docs and Motion (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Google docs and Motion

Google Docs + Motion + Slack: When a Google Doc is created in a specific folder, a task is created in Motion to review the document. Upon task creation, a Slack message is sent to a channel, notifying the team about the new document and the assigned task.

Motion + Google Sheets + Google Docs: When a task in Motion is updated (completed), the task details are logged in a Google Sheet. A summary of completed tasks is then appended to an existing report document in Google Docs.
