Save and Activate the Scenario

After configuring Okta, PagerDuty, and any additional nodes, don’t forget to save the scenario and click "Deploy." Activating the scenario ensures it will run automatically whenever the trigger node receives input or a condition is met. By default, all newly created scenarios are deactivated.

Test the Scenario

Run the scenario by clicking β€œRun once” and triggering an event to check if the Okta and PagerDuty integration works as expected. Depending on your setup, data should flow between Okta and PagerDuty (or vice versa). Easily troubleshoot the scenario by reviewing the execution history to identify and fix any issues.

Most powerful ways to connect Okta and PagerDuty

Okta + PagerDuty + Slack: When Okta detects a new event indicating suspicious activity, a PagerDuty incident is triggered. Subsequently, a notification is sent to a designated Slack channel to alert the security team.

PagerDuty + Okta + Microsoft Teams: When a PagerDuty incident is resolved, the automation retrieves the user associated with the incident in Okta. A message is then sent to a Microsoft Teams channel to notify the team about the incident resolution and user review.
